Mountain Flocculants:
Agents for PAC-AF Aluminiferric Flocculent for Water Treatment

Our Chinese manufactured PAC-AF (Complex polyaluminium chloride aluminiferrous) is believed to be the best aluminiferric flocculant of complex inorganic polymers.

Its chemical formula is [Al2(OH)nCl6-n]m.[Fe2(OH)nCl6-n]m.

With the advantages of both of PAC and PFC with a unique macromolecular bridging structure.

Available only to the domestic market in China for the past 15 years:
PAC-AF is now available internationally from Mountain Flocculants UK.

PAC-AF uses include:

COD reduction, roughing treatment, potable (drinking) water treatment, leachate treatment, as a filter performance improver, and has many other uses. Read more here.

Floc formation (test tube and flask)Definition:

(Ref: Metcalf & Eddy, McGraw-Hill: Wastewater Engineering, Treatment & Reuse, 4th Edition 2004)

Flocculent (or Flocculant): A chemical added to enhance the flocculation process. Typical coagulents and flocculents include natural and synthetic organic polymers, metal salts such as alum or ferric sulphate, and prehydrolized metal salts such as polyaluminium chloride (PACI) and polyiron chloride (PICI). Flocculents, especially organic polymers, are also used to enhance the performance of granular medium filters, and in the dewatering of digested biosolids. In these applications the flocculent chemicals are often referred to as filter aids.

Flocculation: The aggregation of particles resulting in the formation of floc particles which normally settle rapidly.

Coagulent: Chemical that is able to destabilise colloidal particles in waste water so that floc formation results.
